In Depth Meme Continued

Ack! I forgot about this thing as has everyone else. I only have a few days before November is over, so i'll have to try an knock out a few at once from now on.

Day 22 – Something that upsets you:

Politics. Nothing gets me more enraged than talking about the lack of gay rights in the world. Or talking about republicans. There is no topic more likely to cause a fight between C and I. She isn't a republican, but she isn't as liberal as me. And there is nothing more prone to making me unbelievably depressed than the day after an election that doesn't go my way, or when anti-gay laws, bills, etc. are passed.

Day 23 – Something that makes you feel better:

Food. Especially chocolate. Sad but true. Also, watching Love Actually. And also snuggling on the couch with C in front of the TV. And when I used to live near the ocean, going to the beach or jumping on a whale watch boat.

Day 24 – Something that makes you cry:

Witnessing hatred. Watching animals suffer. Overpowering expressions of love.

Day 25 - A first:

My traumatic first root canal )

Day 21 - Favorite Books

Wow, I'm on Day 21. I have hope I might actually finish this before the end of November. And I personally don't think doing the 30 day Meme in 60 days instead is too shabby. :D

Day 21 - Your favorite book(s) either as an adult or a child

The Pokey Little Puppy and Ligthning Strikes Twice )

Late childhood: I was a weird kid, or my parents should have paid more attention to what I read )

Anna Karenina and The Awakening )

We can't leave out King Arthur, Anne of Green Gables or Edward Gorey )

Favorites as an adult )

Finally, lets be real, I mostly read comic books these days. So how about my top 5 favorite comic series? Mouse Guard, Runaways, Angel: After the Fall, Lenore, and... actually, the top 4 were easy, picking the fifth choice not so much, so I'll just stick with my top 4. Unless I can count Rage. Hee.

Clearly I found choosing a single favorite book a completely impossible test. Sorry!

30 day Me Meme alternative entries

There are a few prompts I'm looking at and finding either ridiculous or annoying. Like telling you all what I wore one day was really enough. I don't think I need to do it twice.

So I'm proposing 3 substitutions. They are just 3 things I'd like to hear from all of you. So if you find yourself with a prompt that isn't working for you, maybe one of these will.

1. Your favorite book(s) either as an adult or a child.

2. What do you do or where do you go to get away from it all for awhile or unwind?

3. A charity that you strongly believe in/support/volunteer for.

Day 9 and 10

Day 9 - Your Beliefs

I believe, to quote my favorite Vampire, "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do."

I believe it is more important to be a good person. To help others. To show the world love and kindness. To be grateful for all we have. To value our planet and all the creatures that live in it except the spiders and centipedes that come inside my house. Than it is to go to church. To pray. To spend hours reading the bible. To stand in judgement of others.

I believe in second chances and even third ones. But I believe that after a point you have to own your actions and your life and move on from whatever issues that are holding you back.

I believe no one is perfect and we should all try to understand in where we are coming from. I believe that is harder to do than it sounds.

I believe in respecting others beliefs right up until the point that they interfere with my ability to live my life as their equal, then I believe they no longer deserve my respect.

I don't believe in a god or gods, but I believe in something more out there then just what we can see. Even if it is just the collective energy of all living things in this world that is somehow struggling to drive us all towards a better world.

I believe in choice and free will. But that there is something outside of ourselves that can help point us in the right direction if we are open to it.

I believe in speaking my mind. Even if can come out blunt and harsh. Its honest and its me. But I believe in opening my mind to what others say when they speak theirs as well. Even if I will ultimately reject what they have to say, I can at least hear them out. I believe this is also easier said than done on occasion.

I believe more than just that. But I am getting a cold. So what I mostly believe is that I need to go to bed soon.

Day 10 - What I wore today.

I woke up in my birthday suit, a CPAP mask, and a black wrist brace. I put on olive green cords, a navy blue shirt, rainbow colored socks with shamrocks on them, my brown walking shoes, a clip in my hair, and my engagement ring. I got to work and took off my pants and shirt and ring and shoes put on light blue scrubs and brown doc martins with a steel toe. After work, I put the same clothes on from the the morning. I got home, took off everything, put on purple blue and white plaid pajama bottoms and blue tank top. When I go to bed, I shall get back in my birthday suit, and put the CPAP back on :/ and the wrist brace.

Yes, I sleep in the nude. Sheets on skin rule! You should try it. :D
