I'm going with this for my default, at least for now.

It seems to sum up a lot of what's up with me right now. So even though it's a bit odd, I'm going with it.

ION we watched District 9 tonight. I continue to believe that a big part of the reason The Hurt Locker won the oscar was because people wanted to say a big ole "Fuck You" to James Cameron, and really what is better then not only having him not win but having his ex-wife win instead. Because while The Hurt Locker was a good movie, this one was much better and ought to have won. I still have not seen all the Oscar nominees. But if I were going to rank the ones I have seen in order of who should have won it would have been:

1. District 9
2. Up
3. The Hurt Locker
4. The Blind Side
5. Avatar
6. Inglorious Basterds

I still have yet to see the other 4, although I do plan on seeing Precious at least.

I'm talking about the movie. Ok, so it has some issues, like most horror films. A couple plot holes. A bit of cheesy-ness. This does not, however, stop it from being SCARY. And quite good, if you like to be scared.

And if you live in a brand new (to me, the building itself is very old and creeky) huge apartment building and work with biomedically hazardous animals, you will find it particularly scary. I will not be sleeping well tonight, thank you very much.

The Princess Bride

there was nothing on tv tonight, so we decided to introduce my 5 year old niece to The Princess Bride.

It really is one of the best movies of all time. Have you seen it? Do you love it? What parts are your favorite? Do you laugh a lot? Do you randomly say things like "Stop it now, I mean it. Anybody want a peanut?" Do you melt a bit at the end?

*sigh* reading riz!fic AND watching the princess bride at one time...I'm on, like, true love overload. hee!

Being Scared Is Fun - The Omen

Tonight we are watching the most recent adaptation of The Omen.

Holy Fucking Scary.

There were flaws sure. But when you have multiple jump worthy moments. and one where omfg all three of us just about wet ourselves and the dog actually ran out of the room in fear. i'd say it passes the creepy test.

and it seriously strengthened my belief that little kids are creepy and that i am never going to have children.

and now i don't want to go downstairs to my room all by myself. why do i do this to myself?
